5 weeks

Claire is 5 weeks old (technically tomorrow), and since this blog is our way of documenting things that we want to remember.... Here are 10 things I'll want to remember about her at this age someday:

1. She is such a happy baby and really only cries when she is hungry. At first she was eating during the day almost every hour, but after she turned about a month old she has now been able to go 2 hours between meals most of the time during the day! This makes it much easier to get out of the house and run errands when we need to!
2. This week I think we have maybe seen a couple smiles (that weren't just in her sleep or when she has gas, haha). Hoping to see more smiles in reaction to all the funny faces we make at her soon!
3. We got our first blessed stretch of sleep for more than 4 hours at night this week.
4. She had her first bath which did not involve any screaming (such a drama queen).
5. We give her medicine each day for the thrush on her tongue... it's cherry flavored and neon yellow in color...frequently causing stains on her clothes, (who thought cherry flavored medicine for infants was a good idea?) but she seems to like it now.
6. Weighed her on the scale at home and she is over 9 lbs! Up over 2 lbs from when she was born.
7. Officially moving up from newborn diapers and most of her newborn sized clothes this week, to the 0-3 month size
8. The hair/fuzz on the top of her head it thinning out, but the hair on the back of her head and the sides keeps growing. So it's kind of a receding "old man hair do" right now until it starts growing more.
9. When she is really hungry and drinking big gulps she raises her eyebrows with each drink, which is really cute & also funny when she really gets going.
10. She is already oh so curious and loves looking around. Lights are especially interesting, and fluorescent lights are the coolest.

Another shot of that cute bum in her new G Diapers. So far they are working out pretty good. Only one "blowout", haha ... but that may have been due to user error on my part.

This girl already rules our house, and takes over our bed in the morning while we get ready for the day.

1 Month photos

Since we may not always have time to do weekly pictures on the blog (although I'm sure going to try and post pictures and updates as much as possible) - I decided I would at least commit to doing monthly updates and wanted to start this week with our first Monthly photos. We got these cute stickers as a gift to put on a onesie each month to document as the months go by.

People always say to new parents that time flies, but it truly is amazing how fast it goes by, I cannot believe Claire is a month old already.

Happy St. Paddy's Day

We are celebrating St. Patrick's Day today (and Claire's 3 week birthday), heading over to Kirkland to visit some friends for Claire's first "party" and then going over to Matt's mom's house for dinner. As you can see Claire is pretty excited about her green headband she is sporting today...

2 weeks

I just can't stop taking pictures of our little girl... and I'm realizing that I am just going to be one of those parents taking pictures all the time, oh well she'll get used to it.

1 week

Here are a few pictures we took this week of Claire, she is 5 days old in these pictures, and we can't believe it's already been a week now since she was born. It sure is true that time flies by fast.

Claire Harper Glassman

She is officially here! Claire Harper Glassman was born on February 25th at 8:00am, weighing 6lbs 14oz and 20 inches long. Matt and I are so in love with her already, and can't wait for all the adventures to come with our new little family.

Any day now...

It's officially my due date today, and we are hoping this baby will come soon! Definitely getting anxious. =)

Last weekend we got to celebrate Matt's 30th birthday, and also my lovely friend Beth's wedding (to her now husband James!) which I was a bridesmaid in. I was sure this baby would come early and throw a wrench in things, haha, but the day went smoothly and we had a great time at the wedding.

39 weeks pregnant

The Nursery!

The nursery is "done", and I am finally posting pictures of it!

The last piece I kept waiting to finish was to put up letters on the wall above the baby's crib with her name. Apparently, you can't have a nursery without the baby's name on the wall somewhere (every nursery I looked at for inspiration on various blogs had wooden letters on the wall, and I do think they are cute, so it was a must).

I finally found some letters we liked on Etsy which were unpainted and in a font that we liked (I wanted to find something more unusual and not just standard letters). I put in the order on etsy (for a steal at $22 including all 6 letters and shipping), and got them in the mail this week. We painted them a bright yellow of course to match the other yellow accents in her room, and now that they are up we are ready for this baby to get there!

So here it is... the finished room!

More Bump pictures

Well the bump just keeps getting bigger. =) I'm down to the last month now, and have to say... I'm getting ready for this baby to be here and to no longer be pregnant. Don't get me wrong, I've had it fairly easy with this pregnancy (no bad morning sickness at all, and no crazy complications so far), but this last month has been a bit rougher so I sure hope the last four weeks go by quickly.

A few things I never realized about pregnancy:

1. I had no idea how bad heartburn could really be! I don't think I ever truly experienced it until being pregnant. 
2. How much a persons hands and feet could swell...which apparently causes them to itch. Super fun. 
3. What an inconvenience it is to not be able to reach to put on your own shoes. 
4. That people are seriously nice to pregnant ladies. Not just friends and family, but strangers everywhere I go. 
5. And how much you can care about and love a little person that is not even here yet!
